Why test for microalbumin?
Microalbuminuria – a small but persistent amount of albumin in the urine – is a key early indicator of diabetic and hypertensive kidney disease, as well as a strong independent predictor of cardiovascular risk. International guidelines recommend annual screening of patients with diabetes mellitus type 1 & 2 and arterial hypertension. A rapid on-site test lets you identify at-risk patients during the consultation and decide whether to confirm with a laboratory ACR measurement.

How to perform the test
Open the foil pouch, briefly immerse the reactive pad in a fresh urine sample, remove excess urine and wait approximately 1 minute. Compare the color change of the pad with the reference scale on the pack to read the semi-quantitative microalbumin result.
